Puppy Rules

Rule #1:

If you are newly married and want a puppy to keep you company when husband is away, get one!

They're cute and cuddly and snuggly and fluffy and happy and always excited to see you!
(for some reasons husbands don't always get down on all fours to greet you at the door when you get home.)

If you want to make sure puppy doesn't pee, poop, chew on shoes, chew on furniture, dig threw trash, etc. while you're gone to work all day, buy a baby gate.

Install said baby gate in an enclosed area to keep puppy in.

Make sure you get it tight enough or puppy will learn to wedge her way out!

This part is very important....... BUY ONE WITH STEEL BARS SO PUPPY CAN'T CHEW THROUGH IT AND CLIMB OVER!!!!!!

See the hole? Yeah, puppy isn't small enough to climb through that. Meaning, she propped her feet up on it and climbed over. The gate was still perfectly intact. Puppy met me at the door when I got home.

She's a lot smarter than she looks.

So Darren and I received our first wedding gift on Sunday! Granted, we bought it ourselves, but I still think it counts. We our now the proud owners of a 8 week old  female shih-tzu puppy! And when I say we, I mean me. Yes, in 8 months she will live with Darren, too, but for the time-being I am the one feeding her, grooming her, potty-training her, and waking up at 3:30 in the morning with her when she starts whining. I think that makes her a little more mine than his. My mom and I got our shih-tzu, Cosby, when I was in 8th grade, and I am going to miss him so much when I get married that I had to get one for myself (I tried explaining this to Cosby, but I don't think he gets it...he's pretty much pissed).

ANYWAYS....

This is mine and Darren's first of many things to buy together for the both of us, and that makes me very happy =) Hopefully she won't mind the small apartment that she'll be living in in 8 months....
